Online Museum Classes
Description: All too often, preservation is left to one or two staff members and others believe it doesn't apply to them. Everyone must buy into the notion of preservation. But how? Readings will introduce some ideas and participants in this course will brainstorm with Helen Alten and others about what works, what might work - and what doesn't. Logistics: Participants in Buy-In will read literature before joining in a one-hour chat to discuss how to get other staff to support preservation. Participants in Buy-In will be sent information the week before the chat. Each student should read course materials and prepare questions or comments to share with the other students in the chat. This is an opportunity to brain-storm with colleagues about what works and what doesn't work. This is a mini-course and takes no more than 10 hours of a student's time.
